Welcome to Jody's Jems, now in Cumberland, Rhode Island,
formerly from Glendale, Arizona.
As I reflect over my life since I last updated this in early March,
I am amazed to
still be functioning. God is truly amazing! I spent most of the
month of March in Phoenix, AZ, visiting friends and family. I
also enjoyed the AQG Quilt Show and the PAQA Quilt Retreat.
When I returned to Rhode Island around April 1st, our youngest
daughter and her fiance moved back in with us, as they were expecting
twin baby boys. Life has been very full and challenging with lots
of adjusting.
I did finish "It's a Windy Day" #SNS113 and created another pattern
very quickly for Fern Hill in South Amana, IA, "Bold and Beautiful"
#SNS114, which has
stack-n-slashed borders around Fern Hill's Hollyhocks panel.
I will be creating more
samples to make it more versatile, with a variety of sizes and
update the pattern when I can. Stephanie has some new flowers
coming out soon that will be featured in it also.
With several visitors this summer, it has been very busy at our house.
The biggest surprise came on the 4th of July when Catie had the boys
by cesarean at 25 weeks (40 is full-term). They were only
1 lb. 8 oz. at birth and we have spent
many hours traveling back and forth to the hospital in Providence.
They are at Women and Infants, in
one of the best NIC units in the country, for which we are very
thankful for. The boys are still growing and are only alive by
God's Grace and lots of prayers for wisdom for the doctors and
nurses and healing of their bodies. Today they are up to 2 lb.
10 oz. each. They are little wiggle worms and the cutest little
things. They have filled out nicely and we continue to ask for
healing from our Heavenly Father.
I just updated the class list and patterns page with the new
stores, who are selling my patterns. More classes will be added soon.
