Welcome to Jody's Jems, in Cumberland, Rhode Island,
formerly from Glendale, Arizona.
As I reflect over my life the last six months,
I am amazed at all God has done. Jim healed nicely from his
fall off the roof, our premie grandson, Aryan, continues to grow
and get cuter all the time, we survived the winter that lasted
forever, and have survived the record heat this summer. I had a
great trip to Phoenix to see Aryan, the girls, and friends.
We've had out-of-state visitors, traveled New England to see God's
beautiful creation and to promote my Jody's Jems patterns from
state to state. Please check out my patterns page to see all the
new shops that have been added. Stop in to visit them, when in their
area.
The projects that are ongoing and still waiting to be finished are
a couple of new quilt designs and a couple of quilts that have been
done for awhile that still need to be written. Keep checking back
or email me and request the news as these new patterns are written
published, and released. I am thankful to God for the ideas
He keeps giving me. I'm still working on creating more samples
for my "Bold & Beautiful" pattern to make it more versatile, with
a variety of sizes and will update the pattern as soon as I can.
The biggest news of the summer is that after much prayer, my husband,
Jim, stepped out in faith, and resigned from his corporate job.
The stress was killing him - literally. He's so well respected and
connected in the health care industry that we believe God will
provide him with the best new position wherever He wants us.
We will take all the prayer we can get as we depend on God's
provision each and every day. Thank you.
Just in case it's been awhile since you talked to me, our biggest
surprise came last summer on the 4th of July when our youngest
daughter, Catie, who was living with us, had her twin boys
by cesarean at 25 weeks (40 is full-term). They were only
1 lb. 8 oz. at birth and we spent many hours traveling back and
forth to the hospital in Providence for four months. We lost little
Henry on August 31, 2010. He went to be with Jesus and we look
forward to the day we will see him again and hold him and tell him
how much we love him. His brother Aryan came home from the hospital
on November 1st. He came home with only oxygen. No surgeries or
other complications and we are so grateful for that. He is doing
so well. He's growing like a weed. He was completely off oxygen
by December 19th!!! How wonderful to carry him from room to room
without hauling his tube and tank. He and Catie are doing well in
Phoenix and love the warmer weather than we have here in Rhode Island.
I'm looking forward to seeing that little squirt in a week.
I just updated the class list and patterns page with the new
stores, who are selling my patterns. I also figured out how to
link my Jody's Jems Facebook album so you can see pictures of all
my new patterns. I still haven't figured out how to upload them
to my website yet. Hopefully someday.
Grab that cup of tea or coffee and enjoy my site.
I pray God blesses you in 2011 as you seek Him and His Son,
Jesus, our Lord and Savior. May He bless you with
peace, joy, good health, happiness, and a heart to serve others.
Have a blessed day!
Jody Beck

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord. "Plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen
to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your
heart." Jeremiah 29:11-13
